Merry Christmas to all

Merry Christmas to all

One Night In Bethlehem

The night cold with the winters chill,
Young lad his eyes wander the judean hill,
Lo! tis night his father tend to the sheep,

From preying wolves to save the winters keep.

The town of bethlehem slept in the night,

the lad alone in the inn warmed by firewood light,
Tales of the prophets and David the King,

A fading tune the musicians sing.

A bright star shine alone in the sky,
among them the others fade and shy,

The lad drowning eyes weary to sleep,
Yet, to lay awake till his father return from the sheep.

A distant cry of a child in night,

A man and woman with a child shivering sight,
joseph my name said he, Tis night I find no place to be,

would thou be kind to lend a place for me!

The lad made them sit in a fire warm,
the mother covered the child from winters harm,
The manger cleaned for the child to sleep,
The mother trembled eyes wet to weep.

Tis the day the king would be born,
A distant blow of the shepards horn,
The songs of angels heard far and long,
Judha the cry of his father heard,

under starlight the shepards return with their herd.

Held in his fathers arm they sang for the new king born,
His eyes doth see the king wrapped in clothes torn,
Young judah his eyes so bright,
The prophets dream come true tis night!

The shepards sang the angels song,

Tis the day his forefathers waited long,
The bright star in the sky over the mager bright,

The wise men from east guided at night.

Gifts so precious they showered the child,
Tis the night remembered in the world so wide,

Years and time spent so swift,
Young judah old awaiting the heavens mist!

The cry of the child on that special night,
Held in depth his memories bright,
A manger to a child he did lend,

Blessed in heaven a joy of life to spend.
