The sand castle

A sand castle
Built with sand by the blue sea
Tender hands craft a wonder ever to be
A wall and tower of sand by the tide
The eyes of the young watch with pride
A baby crab curious from its hole
Scale the icecream stick the flag pole
By the sea stood the castle of sand
Counting time its fate in the waves hand
One by one the waves reach the shore
Thrilled shout of the young counting score
Missed by a meter the wave number one
Two came near yet its force was gone
Wait doth the castle wave by wave
Yet to the young the happiness it gave
The sounds of joy end with the final wave
The castle of sand meets the grave
Melting in the tide the castle of sand
Waiting for time a tender young hand
